Metro Lagos: Pastor in Court for Cutting Off Finger of Neighbor’s Two-Year Old Daughter

Lagos police re-arraigned a pastor Moyo Martins before a Chief Magistrates’ court in Yaba over allegations of cutting off his neighbor’s daughter’s finger.

The pastor who lives at No. 5 Oluomo St., Iwaya, Onike in Lagos is currently facing charges of grievous bodily harm to the two-year old.

According to theprosecutor, the accused cut off the girl’s index finger at about 11:00pm, contravening section 243 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The pastor has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Counsel to the accused, Mr. Emmanuel Bassey, told the court that both parties had now agreed to an out of court settlement.

Mrs. Yewande Aje-Afunwa, the magistrate, has adjourned the case to 19th November for a report on the settlement.

The acused was also granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
