In what looks rather strange, the students of Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso, Oyo State on Wednesday took to the entrance of the institution to celebrate the death of their ''living'' Vice Chancellor, Sulaimon Gbadegesin.
In photos that have been making rounds online, the students were seen pasting obituary photos of the vice chancellor, and frying beans cake (akara) to celebrate the ''exit'' of the institution head.
Nigerian Bulletin recall that Candidates for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, were denied access to enter the premises of the institution on Monday, owing to students' protest. JAMB later cancelled the exams in the institution for that day.
The irate students barricaded the entrance of the institution as early as 6 a.m, to show their displeasure towards the owner states (Oyo and Osun) over the non-payment of salaries to staff which has culminated into incessant strike actions. The students were at home for more 7 months following the industrial action embarked upon by workers’ unions.
