The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Saturday conducted the Bayelsa state governorship election rerun in South Ijaw LGA and other wards in about 4 other LGAs.
Here are 5 events of note which happened during the elections.

1. Orubebe-esque outburst at INEC collation centre:
There was mild drama at the collation centre on Saturday night when the PDP agent at Brass LGA, Fred Agbedi, protested against the result calling for its cancellation.
APC had 1,679 and the PDP got 5 votes at the LGA.
The APC agent, Dennis Otitio, evidently became agitated. He stood up and started talking to the audience without permission from the Returning Officer, Mr. Zana Akpagu.
Displeased, Akpagu threatened to have him thrown out of the hall. The drama was settled few minutes afterward.
2. Ballot snatchers nabbed. Two ballot snatchers were arrested by soldiers in the act of perpetrating their crime.
3. Heavy shooting in Ekeremor, other LGAs. There were reports of sporadic shooting of guns at the Ekeremor LGA. Although authorities later denied this, it was discovered that about 12 people died from the shootout.
4. Modification of voting procedure by INEC: At the election rerun on Saturday, accreditation and voting took place simultaneously as opposed to the normal procedure. On a normal day, accreditation is first carried out till about 12pm after which voting starts an hour later.
