Nigerian football league players are starting to benefit from the recent influx of cash into the league.

According to OwnGoalNigeria, there have been a steady flow of money into the league, with players now earning as much as 800,000 Naira as monthly pay since Shehu Dikko became chairman of the League Management Company (LMC).

Recent surveys on the top earning players in the Nigerian league showed that Rabiu Ali of Kano Pillars and Gambo Mohammed are the highest paid players.

Reports were gathered from leaks provided by top officials of the 20 teams that participated in the Nigeria Premier League last season, and not from official sources.

  1. Rabiu Ali (Kano Pillars) - N800,000
  2. Gambo Mohammed (Kano Pillars) - N800,000
  3. Chinedu Udoji (Enyimba) - N750,000
  4. Namso Edo (Akwa United) - N700,000
  5. Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Ifeanyi Uba FC) - N600,000

Enyimba’s captain Chinedu Udoji is closing in on a move to Kano Pillars, it's said.

Although this might not be the actual salaries earned by these players, OwnGoalNigeria said the difference won’t be that much.
