Liverpool go top of the Premier League table

In the first big game on Sunday in the English Premier League,Liverpool defeated Manchester United 1-0 to hand David Moyes,his first loss as coach of his new team.
Daniel Sturridge continued in his fine form since the start of the season,registering a third successive goal in three games.
Liverpool went in front after just four minutes,when Daniel Agger’s header was touched in on the line by Sturridge,to give Brendan Rodgers side the lead.
Manchester United struggled to settle in and Liverpool were on the ascendancy in the first half.
The tempo increased in the second half and Manchester United had the upper hand,but they simply lacked the cutting edge to beat Simon Mignolet in goal.
Nani had his trademark long range shot which was kept out by Mignolet,and also Robin Van Persie had an opportunity late on in the game,but his effort went wide.
On the other end,Raheem Sterling saw David De Gea punch his shot out and Liverpool consolidated to claim all three points and go top of the table.
It was another day of misery for David Moyes,who is yet to win a game in his last 13 visits at Anfield.
