Nigeria will play Luxembourg for the first time in international football as they continue their build-up to the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.

The game is scheduled for Tuesday (today) and to kick off at 6pm Nigerian time, at Stade Jozy Barthel.

This is the first time both countries will ever face each other.

The Super Eagles are ranked 67th in the current FIFA ranking, while Luxembourg are 146th.

Nigeria beat Mali 1-0 in their first friendly match last Friday, with Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho scoring the winner.

The game billed for the Josy Barthel Stadium was brought forward 24 hours because of the hosts’ participation in the Tour de France cycling competition.

Luxembourg's Luc Holtz’s men are winless in their last three games, and a win against the Super Eagles would help boost their confidence ahead their World Cup qualifier against Latvia in September.
