Sports Manchester United beat Liverpool 3-0 thanks to David De Gea

Manchester United produced yet another impressive display in their 3-0 over Liverpool in the Premier League game on Sunday.

That Manchester United were able to register the victory is largely due to the heroics of David De Gea who repelled everything that was thrown at him.

The Spanish goalkeeper was brilliant yet again, and saved United's blushes, making point blank saves that kept his side in the game.

First was a good save off Raheem Sterling when Adam Lallana slipped him through, but De Gea made a block to stop the ball from going in,and it was from that save that United scored their first goal.

Antonio Valencia found a way past Alberto Moreno and was left well in space, looking up and picking out an unmarked Wayne Rooney who side-footed in a shot for the opener.

That was not all the save De Gea made, he made another save again from Sterling and his team took advantage.

United went two up, when Juan Mata netted in the second, although it was a controversial goal because the Spaniard was in an offside position.

Robin Van Persie flicked on a header from Ashley Young's cross which came to Mata who was yards off, but the linesman allowed it to stand.

And if De Gea was immaculate in the first half, he was even more proficient in the second half.

A careless back-pass allowed Sterling through on goal, but just as his first half misses were woeful, his second half was worse.

He appeared to have rounded De Gea yet he couldn't beat him to net a goal.

And a good counter saw United net a third goal with Juan Mata starting the move and capitalizing on a Dejan Lovren's bad clearance to set up Van Persie who slotted it into an empty net.

Despite the good scoreline, De Gea still had a lot to do,making good saves of Mario Balotelli that ordinarily would have ended at the back of the net on another day.

It was a bit strange seeing Liverpool get nine attempts at goal, yet not being able to beat De Gea.

De Gea rightly got the man of the match award, and his form gets better with each game.

United maintains their third position on the log, establishing a good lead above the other teams hoping for a Champions League slot next season.

And now coach Louis Van Gaal's team has made it six wins in a row, getting better and better, however with the immense contribution of David De Gea who always gets them out of jail.

De gea isn't a separate entity from united. he's our player. any of our players can cop heroic displays that get the team a victory. saying we rely on our own player to get us 3 points is malicious.

United won, but where would they have been if De Gea didn't stand tall? Has De Gea been United's best player? How many saves did he make in the game in question? It is more malicious of you to falsely accuse someone who reported what was glaringly for all to see.....

I don't need to argue with you.. De Gea played his part like other team mates, AND GETS PAID FOR HIS EFFORTS.
