The Nobel Peace Prize winner and former President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela has been in the hospital since June 2013 with lung infection is said to be doing well now and has shown great resilience in his battle with his illness.
The presidency of the South African government was quoted to have said, " Doctors are still working hard to effect a turnaround and a further improvement in his health and to keep him stable."
News of the anti-apartheid hero's illness in June attracted world wide attention and concern. Mandela celebrated his birthday in the hospital on July 18th, and was showered with worldwide tributes, well wishes and prayers.
