Following his impressive finish to last season – in which he took charge of the FA Cup final, Champions League final and Euro 2016 final – the 41-year-old has been given the reigns to the biggest clash of the season so far.

Mike Dean will be the man tasked with keeping Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola in order as the fourth official at Old Trafford.

Clattenburg refereed United five times last season, with the Old Trafford outfit winning three and drawing two of those matches.

While in charge of City in the Premier League last term, Clattenburg oversaw one win, one draw and one loss – the latter coming against Tottenham at the Etihad.
