Based on World Health Organization, WHO reports, 300,000 people across Sudan have been affected by floods that have killed nearly 50 people in August.

The flooding has caused the collapse of more than 53,000 latrines, the WHO added.

The WHO also said property had been damaged in 14 of Sudan's 18 states.

Sudanese officials described the floods as a huge disaster and the worst in living memory.

Meanwhile, the Sudanese Government and the UN have launched an appeal to raise $20m (£9.9m) to help more than 400,000 people hit by floods across Sudan
