Match-Fixing: Chukwu happy with life bans players got

Former Super Eagles coach,Christain Chukwu has joined the list of people praising the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) for it’s stand in placing life bans on the players and officials that were found guilty of match-fixing.
In a promotional game into the Nationwide League three,Plateau United FC Feeder defeated Akurba FC 79-0, while Police Machine recorded another huge scoreline,defeating Bubayaro FC 67-0 as they battled for the sole ticket.
The NFF on Monday banned players from all the four clubs,and the match officials,that were involved in the scandalous results recorded in the lower tier of Nigerian football.
“It is well deserved because what happened was an embarrassment to the country; it is, therefore, important to show that it is an unacceptable act,” Chukwu told the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN)
“The people involved in that scandalous score lines simply wanted to kill Nigeria’s football and the world needs to know that our football is not like that.”
Chukwu also praised the NFF disciplinary committee for acting promptly in punishing the offenders.
“They responded swiftly and did not hesitate in taking a decision; a decision that I feel is in the best interest of our football,” Chukwu said.
