Lanre Gentry, the estranged husband of Mercy Aigbe, has been granted bail after being remanded in prison for seven days. But he is due back in court soon in continuation of his case with the government.

Gentry had been dragged to the police on a two-count charge of assault and battery by his wife.

According to Mercy, she had been suffering many years of domestic violence from her husband and wanted him to know the gravity of what he had done, by reporting him to the Ministry of Women Affairs.

Gentry has come out to share his experience inside the cell, on his instagram page:

Nigerian Government Are Not serious at all. How can u arrest someone dat beat his wife or did u contribute for his traditional married ni

Indeed the 7days prison experience has done a whole lot to Mr lanre gentry.is it the prison that polish your English over the night? Guess you paid for it.secondly, your point is cool saying government shouldn't abandon the prisoners but you got it wrong saying govt should stay off domestic violence, so you pray women should be dying like a Christmas chickens. My friend forget it.my advice pls change and stop violating women.
