Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella has reiterated the importance of world footballer of the year,Lionel Messi,to his side adding that he is ‘irreplaceable.”
Messi missed Argentina’s 2-1 victory over Italy on Wednesday with an injury,and Sabella admitted that absence of the Barcelona player was noticeable in their game.
But the coach also stated that the players who lined up against Italy,gave a good account of themselves.
“When a team is used to playing with Messi, you can see the difference when he is not there,” Sabella told reporters after the game.
“Messi is irreplaceable, but the character and desire we showed really pleased me.”
