No less than 1,200 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna North Local Government yesterday defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Vice President Namadi Sambo resides in Kaduna North LG.
About 75 PDP chieftains including two former chairmen defected to the APC a week ago pledging to woo all their colleagues to the new party.
Sambo was in the state yesterday but his presence did not stop the defection. The former PDP members swarmed the APC secretariat to register their allegiance in the presence of its interim chairman of the party in Kaduna, Dr.Hakeem Baba Ahmed.
