Manchester United manager David Moyes seems to have at least temporarily doused tensions regarding his job after his team came from a goal down to win 4-1 against Aston Villa.

With the manager's future the focus of constant debate following a disastrous campaign so far,it couldn't get worse for Moyes after his side once again trailed at home.

The game was dominated with headlines of an impending plane flying with a banner and it did, when in the second minute a fly-by protest: "Wrong one Moyes out" went past Old Trafford.

Ashley Westwood's curling free-kick put Villa ahead in the 13th minute and there was geniune trepidation of what could be.

However Wayne Rooney came to the rescue, calmly heading in a Shinji Kagawa's pinpoint pass, without even needing to jump to level the scores at 1-1.

Rooney added a second just before the break to make it 2-1,scoring a penalty kick after Juan Mata was brought down in the box.

The two goals made it the 171st goals scored by Rooney taking him to fourth position on the all-time top scorers list in the league.

It was the kind of response expected of United and they duly obliged their fans .

Christain Benteke had great scoring opportunities to bring back his side into the game but he wasted his efforts.

Juan Mata scored his Manchester United goal, slotting home the third goal for his side. Substitute Javier Hernandez got the icing on the cake, tapping in the fourth of the match from a Januzaj's cross.

Once again Manchester United produced some performance to relieve the beleaguered Moyes of some pressure.

With this result,he seems to have bought some time pending the imminent arrival of Bayern Munich for the first leg of their Champions League game on Tuesday.
