MTN Do-Not-Disturb: How To Stop Promotional Messages On MTN

The NCC has mandated all operators in Nigeria to introduce a Do-Not-Disturb (DND) service to all customers, effective from today July 1, 2016.

The Do-Not-Disturb service allows MTN customers to opt out of receiving promotional messages for 3rd Party services (Bulk SMS, VAS promos, etc)

WHAT ARE THE FEATURES OF THE SERVICE

Fully Blocked mode: Customers opt out totally from receiving promotional messages via SMS and IVR.

Partially Blocked mode: Customers can filter service categories for promotional messages they wish to receive. Any category not selected is blocked.

HOW TO ACTIVATE

1. Customers will need to activate the DND service by opting via SMS (texting STOP to 2442) or via the DND portal: (https://donotdisturb.mtnonline.com:8081/vasportal)

2. To view all available DND options, a customer can text HELP to 2442 or visit the DND portal

3. To opt out of the service, send the word ''ALLOW'' via SMS to 2442

Activation/De-activation of the service is FREE
