Abdulrasheed Maina, the former Chairman of the Presidential Pension Reform Board, has challenged the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to an open debate over allegations that he swindled the people of Nigeria of N2.1bn.

Maina is currently on the run and is wanted by the EFCC.

“Let’s meet at an open panel of investigation if the EFCC is truly straightforward. We urge the government to appoint an independent panel of investigation and see who will run out of Nigeria", he said via his his lawyer, Sani Katu, in Kaduna on Monday.

He denied the N2.1bn fraud allegations against him.

He said rather than being accused of stealing N2.1 billion, the Federal Government was owing him over N159 billion, based on its five percent whistleblower policy.
