Lopez made the best use of Nadal's health conditions to secure a 6-3 7-6 (7-6) victory in their match.
It was smooth win for Lopez in the first set,beating his fellow compatriot,Nadal in order to sail through to the next stage of the competition.
Nadal was struggling with appendicitis prior to the game and he is considering deferring having an operation owing to his court commitments before the season ends.
