Business National Assembly Jerks Up 2017 Budget By 2%

The National Assembly has raised the 2017 budget by 2 per cent to to N7.44 trillion from the N7.29tn submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari December, 2016.

This was revealed on Tuesday following the submission of report from the Committee on Appropriation in both the Senate and House of Representatives for consideration.

According to the report, the National Assembly raised the 2017 budget by over N143 billion.

Presenting the report during plenary in the House, the Chairman, Committee on Appropriation, Mr. Mustapha Dawaki (APC, Kano) said that the committee worked assiduously with various committees to arrive at the final product.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on December 14, 2017 presented Appropriation Bill of N7. 29 trillion before a joint session of the National Assembly tagged it as budget of growth and economic recovery.
