As Nigerians and international communities are waiting for Nigeria’s second quarter GDP data, Nairametrics has gathered that the Bureau lacks cash to mobilize operatives to help collected the data required to conduct GDP data.

According to Nairametrics, the Bureau has not been funded since January 2016 and only had to use personal funds to part finance the release of the June 2016 Inflation figures.

Sources told Nairametrics that this could be a form of sabotage from people within President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government who are not happy with the data being released previously by the Bureau.

“We understand that the data has been hotly contested by the government officials suggesting that the Statistician General who was appointed by the GEJ government is seen as “sabotaging” government efforts.

“If this is true, then it calls to question the validity of data coming out of the Bureau analysts:, the source told Nairametrics, the online business portal.
