Mr Kayode Olawepo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Ilorin has advised that delegates to the proposed national conference should be elected and that the conference should also be sovereign.
According to him, a sovereign national conference would enable Nigerians through their elected representatives to discuss the country’s problems and grievances of all ethnic groups.
He said government must refrain from solely picking delegates for the conference to be effective.
He added that all the six geo-political zones must have equal representation while other interest groups like religious bodies, students and pressure groups should be included.
