A former Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development in Anambra, Chief Godson Ezenagu, speaking in Awka on Wednesday has expressed confidence that the ongoing national conference could end the insecurity in the country.

"I am confident that the confab will come out with something good for this country.

"If the delegates discuss and agree on crucial national issues like security, power and devolution of power and eliminate all doubts, it could end the Boko Haram insurgency.

"We must get to the roots of the whole matter because it is getting out of hand and election is just next year,’’ he said.

He commended President Goodluck Jonathan for his efforts so far in dealing with the issues.

On how the outcome of the conference could become a working document, Ezenagu said it should be sent to the National Assembly for ratification as the conference was not sovereign.
