NCS President set to integrate ICT tools in government agencies

The newly elected president of the Nigeria Computer Society, Professor David Adewumi said during his inaugural speech as the 18th President of the association that he will liaise with Federal ministries to embark on aggressive application of ICT tools in all government agencies.

He said that his mission as President of the 18th NEC of the NCS is to meet the demands of members and the dynamism of the time. Professor Adewunmi also pledged to expand the membership base of NCS by completing the establishment of NCS chapters in all states of the federation.

He indicated that the main focus of NCS during his tenure with the support of NEC will be to continue to build a society, whose focus would be a robust membership base and ICT driven.

“An articulate and highly proactive NEC and well informed membership, a society which will be able to pay its bills with or without external support.

“With the support of NEC, NCS presence in Abuja will be strengthened just as there will be regular review and improvement of our website,’’ he added.

On the membership benefits, Adewumi said a provision of digital Newsletter to all registered members on happenings in the IT industry in Nigeria and beyond would be introduced and that members will henceforth receive their membership certificates and other documentations through couriers’ services.

“Our focus is to build on the current visibility of NCS in Nigeria in particular and the world in general, create a more productive working relationships with the international community and maintain good working relationship with other professional groups within and outside the country.”
