Alhaji Kawu Baraje,Chairman of the New Peoples Democratic Party(New PDP), alongside Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola ,former Governor of Osun State, on Tuesday led members of his executives and the seven aggrieved governors to meet with the President of the Senate, David Mark, over the New PDP’s grouse with the leadership of the PDP.

According to PUNCH, the governors in attendance included Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Abdulfatai Ahmed (Kwara), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano) and Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto).

Addressing Mark, Baraje said, his executive members and the governors decided to visit the National Assembly because of the lawmakers’ role in resolving previous crises and especially the mature way the legislature handled the third term debate.

The governors were among others, demanding the removal of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as the Chairman of PDP; the resolution of the Adamawa PDP crisis in favour of Governor Nyako as well as the lifting of Amaechi’s suspension from the party.
