Sports NFF in talks with a corporate body over the payment of a foreign coach

The Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) are currently in talks with a corporate organisation on how to fund the payment of a foreign coach for the Super Eagles national team.

President of the NFF Amaju Pinnick said that they are negotiating with a company, who are expected to pick up the expenses of the yet to be appointed coach.

Pinnick on Monday, said that the NFF will be looking at contracting a top foreing coach, who will take over from Amodu Shaibu after the Nations Cup qualifiers.

“We have not concluded the discussion and that is why I have refrained from naming the company. What we have been able to conclude is the company sponsoring the training programme for the referees. There’s a lot of money involved and it is a sensitive one and so we have to seal the deal first before one can say anything further” the NFF president told The Punch.

The last foreign coach appointed for the Super Eagles, Lars Lagerback, had his salary paid by a telecommunication company.
