Apparently worried by the level of insecurity in Nigeria as a result of the continuous killings and kidnapping of innocent people by member of the Boko Haram Sect, United States president, Mr. Barack Obama, has approved an urgent trip to Nigeria by the US Assistant Secretary for Conflict and Stabilization Operations, Mr. Rick Barton.

Apart from the media note which was issued on the trip by the office of the Spokesperson of the Department of State on Friday, LEADERSHIP gathered that the trip of the US envoy on Conflicts Affairs which will last till the 29th April, 2014 in Nigeria was approved by President Obama as a result of the persistent discussions between the US leader and members of his cabinet as well as US security agencies on the issue of Boko Haram and the need for foreign intervention to curb the insurgents.
