Metro Nigeria: Man to Pay N100,000 Bail for Stealing Iron Rods Worth N3,000

Twenty-two-year-old Shaibu Sani will have to pay a N100,000 bail to avoid being remanded in prison pending the commencement of his trial for allegedly stealing iron rods valued at N3,000.

On Wednesday he was brought before an Upper Area Court in Gwagwalada, FTA and charged with joint act and theft which contravene Sections 97 and 287 of the Penal Code.

Police Prosecutor Abdullahi Tanko said Sani, with another man now at large stole two pieces of iron rods valued at N3,000 at undisclosed location.

According to him, the iron rods were later recovered from the accused during police investigation.

Sani pleaded not guilty and the judge, Alhassan Kusherki, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with a surety in like sum.

The case was adjourned to April 12 for hearing.
