Nigeria: Over 100 People Have Been Killed by Fresh Lassa Fever Outbreak - Experts

At least 100 people have died in a nationwide outbreak of Lassa fever, health officials said on Friday, but the federal government insists that only 20 people have died in the 10 states where it says about 319 cases have so far been reported.

The programme director of Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Prof Abdulsalami Nasidi, who made this known Weekly Trust, said the affected states are Anambra, Bauchi, Ebonyi, Edo, Gombe, Imo, Nasarawa, Ondo, Plateau and Taraba.
