The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Rivers State has threatened to drag the Federal Government to court for the alleged continued harassment of Governor Chibuike Amaechi.
Speaking on the ‘detention’ of Amaechi by soldiers in Ondo state, on Thursday, Chairman of Rivers State chapter of ALGON, Mr. Oji Ngorfa, according to Osun Defender, said members of the association were shocked and miffed at the prevention of Amaechi from Ekiti State.
“This is the third time Governor Amaechi will be so embarrassed. We will resist this impunity and will challenge it, even if it means going to the courts”.
He stated that the governor, like any other citizen of Nigeria, did not need any invitation or clearance from any body to be in Ekiti and wondered why the governor should be singled out for harassment.
