Sports Nigerian Rugby Player Snapped Up By South African Team

A South African Rugby club, Belhar RFC, have signed Cowrie RFC player, Christian Ogar.

Ogar attracted interest from the club following his performance at the last November's Olympics qualifiers for the Black Stallions in Johannesburg.

Ogar, also known as 'Star Boy' sealed the deal with the South African based club, who plays in the Western Cape League in South Africa late last year after after all terms had been reached.

The Cowrie RFC speed star began his career with Plateau Tiger RFC in Jos before moving to join the current Southwest League champions.

The Cross Rivers-Born player is due to fly out of Lagos on 26th, January 2016.

Reacting to this, the Technical Adviser of the national team, Bandele Coker described the move as a stepping stone for the player and also for the National team.

According to him, moving to South Africa; a country that has a better infrastructure for the development of rugby will be good for the winger who will hope to be selected to represent Nigeria again in the future.
