The Nigerian Military, on Saturday, disclosed that it has arrested seven suspects during an operation to clamp down on militants in the Niger Delta militants.

According to The Nation, the military arrested the suspects following a mission into the suspected hideout of embattled former militant leader, Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) in Oporoza community, Warri South-West council area of Delta state.

The army also recovered several explosives, arms and ammunition.

The report also said that the Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation Pulo Shield attacked a place known as ‘Tompolo’s location’ at about 2:30am, made some arrests and recovered some explosives, various caliber of arms and ammunition.

Also a previous operation by the military, on Friday, led to the arrest of a person suspected to be among those that carried out several attacks on oil installations in the region.
