An AllAfrica news story says that Soldiers in the Nigerian military may have been working as moles for a long time for the Boko Haram terrorist group, leaking vital military tactics to the sect.

The website reports that the military has arrested soldiers it suspects have been working as double agents for Boko Haram.

“It was gathered that the alleged moles among the soldiers leaked the information on the deployment of soldiers from Maimalari Barracks in April this year to the terrorists, which led to an ambush and killing of so many soldiers of the 101 Battalion”, it reports.

Nigeria's military commander are now piecing the bits together, backtracking and analyzing incidents in the past where Boko Haram succeeded simply because of leaks in the military's intelligence.

For example, the Nigerian military now suspects that in the case of the fighter jet gunned down in early September, the Boko Haram sect might have gotten information about the plane's departure plans from the spy soldiers.

This, it is reported, is causing a lot of suspicion, confusion and mistrust in the higher ranks of the Nigerian military.
