Metro Nigerians Task FG On Regular Supply Of Petrol

Some Nigerians on Wednesday urged FG to ensure regular supply of petrol to ease movement of people during this festivity periods.

According to them, the Federal Government should maintain the tempo of supply to ensure hitch free celebrations during the Yuletide.

The Vice Chairman,Mr Samuel Agbana Long Journey Bus Branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), commended the government saying that there have been no queues at the filling stations recently.

Agbana urged the government to put measures in place to avert artificial scarcity during the period, pointing out that a regular supply of the fuel would prevent the increase in transport fares.

A driver, Mr Abdullahi Mohammed stressed the need for the government to maintain steady supply of petrol as passengers would begin to travel for the festival by weekend.

``As you can see now, our vehicles are waiting for passengers. I think by weekend, the park will witness influx of passengers, but I just hope that government will ensure steady supply of fuel,’’ he said.

A passenger, Mrs Stella Abiola, also seized the opportunity to ask transporters to stop the arbitrary increase in transport fares during festive periods
