Nigeria's 54th Post-Independence - Anything To Celebrate?

Temitope

Temitope Akinola
Nigeria has spent 54 years post-independence and the country is still dragging its foot in corruption, insecurity and a political system that has got little or nothing to offer the people. Can we say it worth it in the first place to demand for independence?

Our country is still dark at night, roads are still very bad, unemployed youths are in their millions and the leaders are storing up the country's wealth for themselves and their children. Is Nigeria's independence anniversary really worth celebrating?
