Sports No Nigerian referee selected for FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup

No Nigerian referee was considered for selection to officiate at the 2014 FIFA Women's under 17 World Cup taking place in Costa Rica.

FIFA on Tuesday listed four African female referees who would officiate in the tournament commencing in March.

Togo accounted for two officials,while the other two match officials came from Madagascar and Zambia.

The only centre referee of the four Africans is Togo’s Amegee Aissata Ameyo.
Her compatriot, Dzodope Ayawa Mana, was appointed as an assistant referee,likewise Madagascar’s Rakotozafinoro Lidwine Pelagie.

Zambia’s Lengwe Gladys was appointed as a reserve referee.

46 female match officials from across 30 different countries have been selected for the tournament .

Nigeria,Ghana and Zambia are the three African countries representing the continent in the competition.
