Sterling scored the first goal for Liverpool in their 2-1 victory over Southampton on Sunday,before Daniel Sturridge netted a 79th minute winner for the Reds.
It is the start of a new season and fixtures are already coming thick and fast,but Sterling believes that they will be able to navigate through the games.
With the match against Southampton not as smooth sailing as Liverpool would have wanted,the games against City and Spurs are not guaranteed to be any easier.
"If we play our normal game, we'll be fine in those two games," Sterling told Liverpool's official website. "Today we showed courage and that's what we need to show at City next week.
"We'll go out and play our usual game, and hopefully we can get the three points. Last season we had a tough start as well but we got the wins."
