Mr Charles Okah , had recently petitioned the Nigeria prisons service(NPS) through his lawyer Mr Festus Keyamo alleging attempts by prison officials to sodomize him. The Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS) has responded and described as untrue the allegation of Sodomy leveled against its staff.
According to a press statement signed by its spokesman, Mr Opo Fatinikun, there was actually a routine search of the prisons recently by eight officers, headed by the chief warder of the prisons.During the search, Charles Okah, as usual, refused to be searched. But when he eventually subjected himself to the search, one MTN SIM card was found on him (under his pants), alongside a Nokia C2 phone and a memory card, which were discovered in an electric bulb fitting located on top of the concrete ceiling of his cell.”
The Nigeria prisons service(NPS) described Charles Okah as a bad inmate , often seeking to cause mayhem within the prison. The spokesperson also added that a committee has been set up to look into Mr. Charles Okah’s allegations.
