Oats Reduce Cholesterol in the Body

Miss Yemisi Olowookere, a dietician working with the Garki General hospital in Abuja, assured the public that the consumption of oats will reduce cholesterol in the body and being a good source of fibre should be an essential ingredient in ridding the digestive system of unwanted toxins and diseases in the body.

She also said, "Oats lowers cholesterol and helps in maintaining a healthy weight. For people with high cholesterol levels, the intake of the equivalent of three grammes of oats fibre daily generally reduces total cholesterol by eight to 23 per cent."

The best way oats could be enjoyed is having a breakfast meal of oats served with fruits and nuts in the morning.
