Metro Ogun: Electrician Electrocuted, Cries For Help After Cables Fell On Him

Aleegun area of Ota Efun in Osogbo was thrown in disarray yesterday after Mutiu Aderemi was electrocuted on a pole carrying low-tension cables.

Aderemi, 21, was trying to reconnect the cable which was disconnected by Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) for one of his customers.

The victim was said to have cried for help severally but got one to come to aid when the pole reportedly broke while the cable fell on him.

Residents of the area rushed to the scene only to discover Aderemi’s body on the ground.

The IBEDC spokesperson, Mrs. Kikelomo Owoeye, warned against illegal tampering with electric installations. She said: “A lot of cases are being handled by the police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for us concerning those caught in the act of illegal access to our facilities.
