Imo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Charles Ezekwem, has accused Governor Rochas Okorocha of nepotism, favouritism, high level corruption, mischief and photo-shopping.

According to him, Okorocha's political and leadership style has made virtually all the sectors in the state’s economy to collapse.

“Today, in Imo State, it takes one about one hour to get to World Bank Housing Estate from Ama JK or Bank Road. Our “China” roads have all been washed away and gotten so bad with just the beginning of rainy season. There is an avalanche of abandoned projects littering everywhere.

“The plight of Imo workers and pensioners also readily comes to mind. Imo State has presently acquired notoriety as the most hostile and anti labour friendly state in Nigeria. Workers are being owed while pensioners are left to wallow at the mercy of God Almighty. Salaries, which do not come as at when due are been terribly slashed, workers’ annual leaves suspended and leave allowance cancelled. The madness is endless.”

Reacting, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Okorocha, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, said Ezekwem couldn't have said anything different.

“He can go on and on to condemn the Governor’s administrative ingenuities. Those types of comments also come from drowning people and that is not what we are talking about now. We are more interested in serious issues of governance and not PDP.”
