No fewer than three offices have been bungled in the Ondo State Governor's office in the last one week by yet to be identified Armed robbers.
According to DAILY POST, despite the effort of the state government in employing the services of private security guards and other security agencies to man the offices, the robbers continue to carry out different operations in the various offices with impunity.
It was gathered that the sum of N4 million was carted away by the robbers in the office of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Rotimi Adedola.
Another office attacked by the robbers was that of the state Commissioner of Information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, where an unspecified amount was also stolen.
The robbers, it was also gathered carted away some vital documents in the Commissioner’s office.
A top civil servant who spoke on the condition of anonymity attributed the robbery incidents to lack of good internal security in the offices.
He said:"the security in most offices is too porous and that is why it is possible for robbers to invade the offices and rob with impunity".
“I am also suspecting foul play, there is a conspiracy between some of our staff, the robbers and the security people.”
The Spokesman of the state Police Command, Wole Ogodo, has confirmed the robbery incident and said the Command was already investigating the matter.
