Metro One Day After Lagos Plane Crash: Saudi-Bound Jet Develops Deflated Tyre

Barely one day after the Lagos plane Crash involving the corpse of former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Agagu, family member and friends, a Saudi bound Kabo Air plane carrying 400 passengers from Kano made an emergency landing at the Sir Abubakar III international Airport in Sokoto early today.

According to Sahara Reporters, the aircraft, a Boeing 747-300 jumbo jet, which departed from Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano was en route Saudi Arabia when several of its tyres exploded immediately after take off.

Before successfully crashlanding, the plane caused damage to some navigation tools.

The Guardian also reports that, Spokesman for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Yakubu Dati in a statement Saturday said, "The aircraft damaged some Instruments Landing System (ILS) and came to a stop with deflated tyres".

According to Dati, "The FAAN emergency response apparatus acted swiftly to secure all souls on board and the aircraft made safe landing in Sokoto airport".

All passengers (494) and crew members(19) aboard the airline have been evacuated from the plane, they are expected to continue the journey tomorrow.
