Sports One-man show: Alexis Sanchez lead Arsenal to a 3-0 victory over Stoke City

Arsenal have Alexis Sanchez to thank for their 3-0 victory over visiting Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium.

The Chilean provided an assist and then went on to score the next two goals as the Gunners secured all three points in the game that saw them move up the log in the English Premier League.

Arsenal have now leapfrogged past their North London rivals, Tottenham and are now fifth on the table, but level on points with Southampton who are yet to kick off against Manchester United.

Alexis Sanchez returned a second ball into the box from a corner kick after Stoke failed to clear their lines and Laurent Koscielnhy rose high to give Arsene Wenger's team the lead.

Stoke didn't offer much attack wise and were left at the mercy of their goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, who pulled up some good saves.

However a well crafted goal from Arsenal saw them extend their lead. Alexis stole possession and quickly transited it to Tomas Rosicky who immediately laid it in his paths and he ran towards goal to slot in the second goal.

Stoke almost gave up a three-goal in the reverse fixture that ended 3-2, but they couldn't find a way to come back in this game.

And Sanchez made it three, getting a free-kick underneath the wall, but it was poor goalkeeping from Begovic who appeared like he would have done more to prevent the goal.

The game then went down in tempo with Arsenal relaxing and Stoke eager to see out the contest.

With players coming back from injuries, Arsene Wenger would be delighted seeing the likes opf Theo Walcott and Mesuit Ozil having a run out in the match.
