The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun said it has approached the Election Petition Tribunal to seek for an order to find alternative means of serving Governor Rauf Aregbesola the panel's process.

Alhaji Gani Ola-Oluwa, PDP Osun Chairman, in a statement alleged that the governor was evading the service of a petition on him.

Ola-Oluwa said it had reached a level that the tribunal should give an order to find alternative means of serving the governor.

"It is disheartening that the governor is evading being served which does not tally with the rule of law and respect for due process, which all law abiding citizens must profess and demonstrate.’’

He criticised the All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters for trooping to the venue of the ongoing inspection of election materials.

According to him, the followers are being incited to forment trouble, to disrupt the inspection of the materials.

However, Mr Gboyega Famodun, Secretary of the Osun state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), told newsmen that the governor did not evade notices from the tribunal.

Famodun said the name of the governor was not on the ballot papers, saying ‘’it is the logo and the symbol of APC that could be found on the ballot paper.

"Even if the governor is to be joined in the suit, there are many avenues through which the notice could be served. The governor does not need to stop on the street to receive notices.

"The tribunal has served the party and we duly signed for it. The governor could be served through the party, the Attorney General and others. The PDP is being unprofessional,’’ Famodun alleged
