Sunday Olaoye, the elder brother of #Osun Deputy Governor, Mrs Titi Laoye-Tomori, has dumped the #AllProgressivesCongress (APC) for the #PeoplesDemocraticParty (PDP).

Laoye, who formally declared his allegiance to the PDP on Wednesday at the party’s secretariat, said he left the APC because he was "used and dumped".

Olaoye said he had consultations with God and his supporters before he made the decision to retrace his steps back to the PDP.

He described the PDP as a party that was ready to welcome everybody without discrimination, adding that he had known the PDP governorship candidate as a man of ideas.

"I am ready to work for the success of the PDP. I will go back to political trenches across the 332 wards in Osun to ensure the victory of the PDP in the Aug. 9, 2014 election’’, Laoye said.

Alhaji Gani OlaOluwa, the Chairman of the PDP in Osun, said the decision of Olaoye was good for the PDP in the state..

OlaOluwa described Olaoye as "a big catch that will throw the opposition party into disarray.’’

The PDP chairman said Olaoye and his followers would not be treated like fresher.

He said the party would continue to spread its nets to ensure that all true democrats returned to the PDP before the governorship election.

A former National Vice Chairman, South West of the #PDP, Alhaji Tajudeen Oladipo, said the return of Olaoye to the PDP family was an indication of greater things to happen in Osun.

Meanwhile, the #APC in Osun, through its Publicity Secretary, Mr Kunle Oyatomi, described the defection as usual in a democracy.

Oyatomi in a statement made available to newsmen, said it was not compulsory that all members of a family should belong to the same political party.
