Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has assured medical and dental officers serving with the state that their salaries will be reviewed during a courtesy call on him to office.

He also called on benevolent Nigerians to unite with the government, especially in the provision of basic health services since it is not possible for the government to handle the prevailing economic situation of the country alone.

The Chairman of the association, Dr. Fola Oni, had praised the Governor's administration for enhancing the health status of the people of the state through improved public health and effective waste disposal system.

Dr. Oni also mandated the evaluation of the law establishing the state Hospitals Management Board, in order to create partial independence for state-owned hospitals and to allow the board to play only administrative roles in the state health sector.

He also required the review of the salaries of medical personnel in the state.
