Kwara Afresh, a political group affiliated to the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has ordered lawmakers in Kwara state who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to vacate their seats or face legal action.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Dr Abdul-Wahab Lawal,Director-General of the group said if the concerned legislators fail to voluntarily vacate their seats in the State House of Assembly and National Assembly, PDP in the state will evoke relevant sections of the constitution to make them to do so.

Lawal said Kwara Afresh was determined to restore power to PDP in the state in 2015, and maintained that his group would chase the defectors out of their present political offices.

He further added that the defection of Kwara Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed and his predecessor, Sen. Bukola Saraki, would not affect the fortunes of PDP in the state at the 2015 polls.

"The movement of Sen. Bukola Saraki and his team of government officials from PDP to APC is nothing.

He assured that PDP was intact and “more solid” in Kwara, and expressed optimism that the new National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, would strengthen the party and take it to greater heights.
