In a news report by Street Journal, the governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has asked that former president Olusegun Obasanjo be immediately suspended and probed for 'anti-party activities.'
He has asked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to set up a panel to that effect.
He said the party should stop condoning Obasanjo's indiscipline, as “nobody should be treated as being bigger than the party.”
He also pointed out that “a man who has refused to respect the office of the President of Nigeria that he once occupied does not also deserve respect from anyone.”
He said Obasanjo's constant criticism of Jonathan was outrageous, and rich coming from a man who led the country for 11 years yet spent billions of naira trying to ensure his sustained rule.
“Have you ever heard a former president of the United States of America (USA) openly abusing a sitting president of the country?
“Does it mean that former USA president, Bill Clinton agreed with all the policies of George W. Bush and the incumbent president, Barack Obama?
“Obasanjo is behaving unpresidentially and he must be told to respect himself.”
