Gov. Babangida Aliyu of Niger said the ongoing search for solution to the lingering crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would be pursued to logical conclusion.

Aliyu stated this in Minna on Wednesday while receiving the Vice Chairman of PDP for North Central Zone, Mr Yusuf Ayetogu, who called on him.

"We are discussing and negotiating, we will see the negotiation to its logical conclusion, and our objective is to reform the PDP," the governor said.

He said the problem that led to the walk out by the G7 group was due to the injustice.

According to him, when there is no justice, we will have problem, we need to sit down and make corrections.

"When autocracy and dictatorship take the place of democracy, people with democratic minds must come out and act in defence of democracy", he said.

Aliyu said his stance on the PDP crisis had now been proved to be right because those who opposed his support for President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011 were now pretending to be his friends.

He warned the party to be wary of lions in sheep’s cloths. "These enemies of President Jonathan want to enter the house through the back door."

Earlier, Ayetogu told the governor that there was the need for quick resolution of the crisis because the 2015 election was around the corner.

Ayetogu said the zone had constituted a committee to liaise with the governors within the zone on how to resolve the dispute.

He said that the committee had already met with the Benue Governor Gabriel Suswam.
