On Thursday, Honourable David Ombugadu, a member of the house of representatives defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. With his defection, the APC now has 172 members in the House of Representatives while the PDP has 174.
Honourable Aminu Tambuwal, speaker of the House of representatives read Ombugadu's defection letter on the floor of the house quoting the lawmaker as saying that he decided to dump the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), which had now merged with APC for PDP, after due consultation with his constituents.
PDP lawmakers welcomed the defector into their fold with great jubilation.
